Constants and variables.

Constant:-Value that remains unchanged in a problem

or set of operations even if undetermined.
Variable:-Value that changes in a scope of a problem
or set of operations.
Function

Dependent and Independent Variable.

Intervals and Modulus(Absolute Value Function).

Basic Inequalities and Wavy Curve Method(Generalized

Method of Intervals).
Function:-It is like a generator (mapping) and
associates domain with range.It takes an input and
produces output.It may be single valued or multi
valued.Also a function may take more than 1 input.
For example:-
Modulus and Basic Inequalities
Graph
Definition of |X| of Y=|X|
Y=f(X)=|X|=X,X>=0
-X,X<0

Graph of Y=X(Identity Function)

Basic Inequalities.

1.a<=b implies either a<b or a=b.

2.a<b and b<c =>a<c(transition property,transistive)
3.a<b => -a>-b,The sign of inequality reverses if both
sides are multiplied by -1 or other -ve number.
4.a<c,b<d =>a+c<b+d.
5.a<b =>ka<kb if k>0 and ka>kb ifk<0.
6.0<a<b =>a^r<b^r if r>0 and a^r>b^r if r<0.
7.a+1/a>=2 using A.M.>=G.M. for a>0 and equality
holds for a=1.
8.a+1/a<=-2 for a<0 and equality holds for a=-1.
9.Squaring an Inequality:-If a<b then a^2<b^2 is not always
true for example.-5<3 but its square 25> 3 square i.e. 9.
X^2>=0 for all real X.
If F(x)=AX^2+BX+C,then we try to convert it into perfect
square form of (X+K)^2+L,where K,L(-R like:-

(A+B)^2=A^2+B^2+2.A.B
Modular inequalities:-
1.|X|<a,-a<X<a./X(-(-a,a).
2.|X|>a,X>a and X<-a/X(-R-[-a,a] or X(-(- ,-a)U(a, ).
3.|X|<=a,-a<X<a./X(-[-a,a].
4.If X<a then |X|<|a|
5.If X^2>aAA^2 then |X|>|a|.
6.If AX +BX+C<0,A>0,then X(-( , ) ,alpha,beta
are the roots of the Q.E.
7.If AX^2+BX+C>0,A>0, then X(-(- ,-K1)U(K2, )
8.(X-A)(X-B)<0, A<X<B and B>A.
9.(X-A)(X-B)>0 ,+inf>X>B,-inf<X<A and B>A.
Intervals and Wavy Curve method.
Reciprocal Law:- A>B then1/A<1/B.
Intervals:-Representation of domain and range of a function
and solutions of any equation are done on the number line by
intervals.
Types of Intervals:-
1.Closed Intervals:-if A<X<B ,A,B(-R./X(-[A,B]

2.Open Intervals:-if A<X<B where A,B(-R,/X(-(A,B).

3.Semi open or semi closed interval:-A<X<B or A<X<B where

A,B(-R and A<B everywhere.
Wavy Curve Method(Critical points)
If f(X)=(X-a )^k *(X-a )^K *.......................*(X-a )^k
More properties of Modulus:-
1.|X+Y|<|X|+|Y| ,if X and Y are of opposite sign,XY<0
2.|X-Y|<|X|+|Y| ,if X and Y are of same sign XY>0.
3.|X+Y|=|X|+|Y| if X and Y are of same sign or at least one
of them is zero.
4.|X-Y|=|X|+|Y| if X and Y are of opposite sign or at least
one of them is zero.
...................................................................................................
5.p/q>0 or <0 then p.q>0 or<0.
6.If X<Y then X+a<Y+a.
