RETIREMENT PROTECTION FUND (RPF)

This is a fund which acts more or less like a pension scheme but tailored to suit the members of
Trans Nation Sacco. This product is voluntary; it is effected to members who have not retired. For
those who have retired and wish to join the programme they will be specifying the maturity
period when the refund will be refunded to them but not less than three years. In this product a
member will be allowed to contribute as low as 300 every month to build his/her fund. This fund
can only be given back to a member when he/she retire or when one loses his or her job or on the
maturity incase of retired members. If the contributor dies the fund will be returned to his/her
next of kin.

Benefit to the Member

i. The fund will be earning dividend which will be ploughed back to the fund.
ii. This fund will not be acting as the security of any loan, meaning even if the member
default the loan this fund cannot be used to pay his or her loan.
iii. The member will be guaranteed of his fund when he retires or on the maturity of the
period incase of retired member.
iv. It gives a member a reason to smile when going home after retirement.
v. It gives a member opportunity to save as saving has become a real nightmare to most
people.

Documents required from the retiree:

The following are the documents required to process the claim.

a. Two Photostat copies of national identity card.

b. Two Photostat copies of ATM/Bank plate.
c. Two payment of lump sum gratuity form duly completed (Bank forms).
d. TSC clearance certificate from head of Institution
e. Two photocopies of all promotion letters/certificates
f. Ensure that you clear any tax liabilities with KRA.
i. HELB clearance if a teacher is a university graduate.

POINT TO NOTE AS MEMBERS OF TRANS NATION SACCO.

1. Ensure your salary passes through Trans nation Sacco before retirement.
2. Make sure bank details are filled by the Sacco staff and two copies of bank plate is attached to
the form.
