They may pile high up in the sky like mountains of clouds. They are most often seen on bright, sunny says. cumulonimbus Cumulonimbus Clouds Cumulonimbus are the scariest clouds. They look like dark gray instead of white, sometimes almost black. These clouds mean thunderstorm is coming. Sometimes balls of ice called hail fall from cumulonimbus clouds or tornadoes grow out of them. www,pinayhomeschooler.com Cirrus Clouds They are hardly there. They look like white feathers that’s trailing across the sky. Cirrus clouds mean sunny weather ond no rain. They are usually far apart and let the sun shine on the Earth. Cirrostratus Clouds They cover the entire sky. They mean that it may rain or snow in twelve to twenty four hours. “Stratus” means clouds that are flat and spread out like a blanket. www,pinayhomeschooler.com Cirrocumulus Clouds They are small, white puffy clouds that are scattered across the entire sky. “Cumulus” means that a cloud is rounded instead of flat. Cirrocumulus clouds mean that it is going to get colder. Altocumulus Clouds These clouds look like ocean waves-puffy, white and gray. When you see them during the hot, humid days, a thunderstorm will probably occur. Altostratus Clouds These are gray blue and streaky clouds that cover the sky. When you see these, it means that it could rain that night or the next day. Stratus Clouds These are gray clouds that cover the whole sky. Stratus clouds mean rain but not that much. www,pinayhomeschooler.com Stratocumulus Clouds These are gray clouds that look like a row of fuzzy lumps hanging low in the sky. No rain falls with these clouds.
