Bug manifestation guidelines

Thank you for taking the time to read this document. This is a guide only as these can be
superseded in project instructions.

When raising a bug, you will see three options in the drop-down box for selecting the
manifestation of the issue. These are the definitions of those options.

Ecommerce sites and apps

This issue stops me making a purchase
“Critical” issues
This issue makes me less likely to purchase
“Conversion” issues
This issue impacts my experience, but will not
affect my purchase
An issue that prevents you from continuing
your purchase journey. E.g. you cannot add a
product to your basket.
An issue that does not prevent your purchase,
but is frustrating enough that a user may
abandon the site. E.g. Products that are in stock
are not in search results.
Minor graphical inconsistencies. E.g.
Mismatched image sizes

“Customer Experience” (CX) issues

Non ecommerce sites and apps

This issue stops me using the site An issue that prevents you from continuing
your journey. E.g. App does not install.
“Critical” issues

This issue makes it difficult to use the site
“Conversion” issues
This issue impacts my experience, but I can
continue to use the site
An issue that does not block your journey but
that causes you to seek a workaround. E.g.
Menu not being mobile friendly.
Minor graphical inconsistencies. E.g. Broken
images.

“Customer Experience” (CX) issues

Bug impact guidelines
Before you submit your bug, you will also have to select the impact your bug has on the
user.

Not every bug will fit neatly into a category, so a level of discretion is necessary. Please
select bug impacts based on these guidelines:

Highest  Crash
 Broken logo in a prominent place
(homepage, dashboard, etc)
 Revenue related or affecting
High  Error message display issue
 404 error
 Redirection issue
 Social integration error
 Missing features/button
Medium  Layout issue
 Validation issue
Low  Font issue
 Colour issue
 Hyperlink issue
Lowest  Tooltip issue
 Fringe scenario (edge case)
