was exterminated by Hernán Cortés, seconded by indigenous allies, in what is
remembered as one of the most terrible genocides of the Spanish conquest of
America.

10. The Valle de Guadalupe is the best place in Mexico to immerse yourself in the delights
of wine. This Baja California valley between the municipalities of Ensenada and Tecate
was blessed by nature with ideal Mediterranean conditions to produce noble grapes.
