Hydroponic Farming

Introduction
Simply put Hydroponics is the art of growing plants without using soil, using
an inert growing medium to anchor the roots plus a liquid nutrient solution
for food. Way more efficient as plant roots get easier access to both water
and nutrients enabling them to grow much faster and produce a bountiful
crop.
It is being seen that people all across the world are becoming extremely
conscious about the food they are consuming, and have turned to organic
food, but here is the thing: not all organic food is good since you will not be
able to know the method of cultivation. However, when you switch over to
hydroponics, you will find that you cannot cheat at all. You have to ensure
that you do not use harsh chemicals in your system since that will affect all
the plants in your system. Other benefits include:-
1. Higher Yields ( about 2-3 times)
2. Water saving up to 90% depending upon the system and
location
3. Quicker harvest cycles as plants are not wasting energy looking
for nutrients
4. Sustainable land use
5. Cleaner and healthier produce

What can be grown Hydroponically
• Technically any plant can be grown using hydroponics,
including most vegetables many fruits, house plants,
herbs, flowering plants and more! It is an incredibly
versatile method of growing and one which has a very
bright future
• While choosing what to grow hydroponically
commercially you need to think about compact crops
that have quicker harvest cycles and occupy less space
for economical viability, home growers though can
plant all that they wish to from leafy greens to
strawberries to melons.
• However the crop you want to grow will eventually
decide the system type you want to install.
