Classification of Horticultural Crops

I. INTRODUCTION

II. OBJECTIVES:

1. To get acquainted with the different horticultural crops.

2. To identify and classify the different crops.

3. To know their economic value or importance.


III. LITERATURE:

Horticulture and its related sciences have produced a rich diversity of literature. Food crops
such as fruit, nuts, vegetables, and condiments; ornamentals and landscaping plants including
trees, shrubs, and cut flower and bedding crops; turf grasses; medicinal plants and the use of
plants for human wellbeing and therapy.

IV. METHODOLOGY:

Before doing this exercise, the class did a discussion with regards of the different divisions in
horticulture. After that, they proceed to the assigned area which could be the source in gathering
data. Each group did their tasks by knowing and getting their common names, scientific names,
family names, as well as their uses.
