CHAPTER1System function

A typical condition access system（CAS）includes ECMG, EMMG and

EIS. The main function of ECMG (entitlement control messages generator) is to generate
the view condition for PAID TV users: those who obtain an entitlement can receive the
scrambled program but those who don’t cannot receive it. EMMG (entitlement
management messages generator) gets the information of authorized users and generates
authorizing message data package, then sends the data package to user to ensure that
users who buy the entitlement can receive the controlled encryption program. EIS (event
information scheduler) provides access control (AC) data and other specific information
to ECMG. The relationship between Multiplexer, ECMG, EIS and EMMG is shown in
fig.1.

A multiplexer compatible with DVB SimulCrypt standard should have the

interfaces to ECM and EMM, but it might not provide standard EIS
interface. So in order to send EIS messages (including AC messages) to
EMMG, a typical multiplexer provides an interactive interface that can
be used to input information: either input manually or from file. But it
is a very tedious job if the contents are too many. The LynxCrypt_AC
edit system is designed to solve this problem.
The main functions of the LynxCrypt _AC edit system are: to manually
input access condition (AC) data, and to modify and correct it at any
time; to save the AC data of the customer records to file and read the
data to the customer interface from file; to insert, modify, delete the
data and copy the data to the clipboard. Using the functions mentioned

above, the customer can easily and quickly generate the data and copy
the relevant data to the multiplexer from the EIS.
The name of the CTI_AC edit system software is: cti_ac_edit.exe. The
working environment is over the Windows 98/ Windows NT operating system.

CHAPTER2system operation

1、Startup of the application

In Windows98/ Windows NT/Windows 2000 environment, after started

application ca_edit.exe, the system will display the main Manu for the
customer as shown in fig.2:

2、Open the edit window

To choose " record operation" under the menu ‘operate’ to open the
edit window which can do various edit work, the window is shown in fig.3

There are three types of data operations in the above window: the
record edit, the list of record operation, file operation.
●the record edit: to input and edit data .The data it can handle includes:
the serial number of the record, scrambling mark, multiplexer parameter,
the program time parameter, the system parameter, visit standard data
etc.
●the list of record operation: to place the record into the list of
record,insert the record, refresh the record, delete the record, and
copy the record etc.
●file operation: to save file and open file.

3、The description of record edit field

Inputting a positive integer as record number.
scrambler flag：
If checked, it means the program is needed to be scrambled, if not
it means the program is free.
multiplexer serial number: --- Ptc_No: ---- Scrambler NO
Input an integer as the multiplexer serial number, it is used to
distinguish different multiplexers.
import port serial number: --- Ptc_Ch_No:
It is used to number the different ASI import ports of multiplexer,
it starts from 1 and increases, ranging 1-30;If multiplexer equipment is
again multiplexer or scrambler, the serial number can be expressed as
the program number for TS.
program beginning time: --- Start
The beginning time of scrambling of the program.
program ending time: ---- End
The ending time of scrambling of the program.

The ID of COMPUNICATE TECHNOLOGY Inc CA system is 0x3000(12288)

4、the list of record operation

Insert the record:

it creates a new record, and pass the record from the dialog box to
the list of the record.
Refreshing record:
it is used to refresh the record according to the record number if
the recorded has been edited in the dialog box.
Delete the record: Delete the selected record from the list of records.
To Clipboard:
Copy the data to the clipboard, and then it can be " paste" to any
text editors.

5、the file operation

Open file:
open the file and read the data into the list of records from the
file
Save file:
write the data of the list of records to the file.
Quit:
to display “do you want to save current data?” hint and return to
the main manu after selected operations.
Cancel:
Don't save the data and return to the main manu.
