Case Analysis Worksheet

This form can be used to organize your thoughts about a case. As you perform your analysis
remain open to the fact that your interpretation of the facts may change and therefore you should
constantly revisit your answers.

Define the Problem: Describe the type of case and what problem(s) or issue(s) should be the
focus for your analysis.
It is a problematic case because the conflict between administrators & teachers and public & private
schools have been discussed. The administrators try to be dominant when resolving a conflict that is a
serious problem that need to be over looked while taking decision. On the other hand, private schools
focus on keeping up their repo, having a stress free environment, be more productive and for this they
use multiple strategies while on the other side public schools are unable to keep the things perfectly as
of this the result is less productivity.

There are two issues that need to be center of focus for analysis:

 Less understanding and communication gap between administrator and teachers.

 Less focus on conflict resolution in public schools as compare to private schools.

theories that can be applied to this case.

List relevant qualitative data: evidence related to or based on the quality or character of
something.
 An effort to exert one’s point of view at the expense of another and often leads to a win-lose
situation.
 To smooth over conflicts and minimized their discussions.
 Give and take attitude.

List relevant quantitative data: evidence related to or based on the amount or number of
something.
 It seems that the participants who are administrators are more likely to use avoiding and
compromising strategies than teachers. The administrator participants are more likely to
use avoiding and compromising behaviors than teachers. The reported mean scores related
to responses in the avoiding factor for those who are administrators were found to be higher
(X = 3.22) than those who are teachers (X = 2.85). Statistically, the second significant finding
was in the compromising factor. The mean scores concerning administrators were also higher
(X = 3.43) than the scores of the teachers (X = 2.92).

 Analysis showed that the result in compromising, avoiding and competing factor were all found

to be statically significant. This means that private school’s administration and teachers are more
likely to use compromising, avoiding and competing behaviors. He reported means score related
to response in the compromising factor for those who work in private schools were found to be
higher (X = 4.44) than those who work in public schools (X = 2.85). for avoiding factor, means score
relates to employees who works in private schools were higher (X = 3.29) that those who work in
public schools (X = 2.77) and for the competing factor, means scores of those who work in private
schools were higher (X = 3.11) that those who work in public schools (X = 2.84).

Describe the results of your analysis: What evidence have you accumulated that supports one
interpretation over another.
 Results shows that employees who are administrators would more likely use strategies of
avoidance and compromise than employees who are teachers.

 Results shows that employees who are (administrators and teachers) and work in private
primary schools are more likely to use compromising strategies that employees who work in
private schools.

Describe alternative actions: List and prioritize possible recommendations or actions that come
out of your analysis.
 There should be a mutual understanding between administrators and teachers when resolving a
conflict.
 More time should be taken while making any decision.
 Opportunities and facilities provided should be equal both in public and private schools.
 Public schools must focus on developing and practicing multiple skills.

Describe your preferred action plan: Write a clear statement of what you would recommend
including short, medium and long-term steps to be carried out.
 The main thing that need be worked on which can make the future decisions stable is that every
department or person that is involved in taking any decision must have equal rights so that no
one feels disappointed when the results come out. Same level or to some extent public schools
should be prioritize in every way because this will help staff and students to enjoy a learning
environment.
