Factores Effect Inno and Process Innovation
RESOURCES
Resources play a major role in creating and producing new innovative products. Building a strong
management with sufficient resources can gain a better development process which can lead to a
better innovative design and product. Souchi paper soap focused on the innovation of the liquid or bar
soap into a paper form. This product innovation was made in a form of soap because the objective of
this product is to create very convenience soap to consumer which can be used anywhere and anytime.
The main ingredient in making this paper soap is virgin coconut oil which proven in helping the
consumer to be protected against harmful microorganism. Coconuts are Malaysia’s fourth largest
industrial crop behind oil palm, rubber and rice with most of the plantations found in Sabah and
Sarawak. According to a report by the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute
(Mardi), the country is among the top 10 coconut producers in the world (Yun, 2020). Therefore, the
raw material for our product can be easily gained in Malaysia.

Innovation is the process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that
creates value or for which customers will pay. The idea given must be replicable at an
economical cost and must satisfy a specific need. The first steps in process innovation are
problem analysis. To understand the problem that faced by the customers, we must put
ourselves in the shoes of the user. From the perspective of the users, we can explore many
things such as the current solution available, technology exists that can be used as solutions
and more. Based on the information gained from this analysis, paper soap is the excellent
choice for consumers to use as it is very convenient compared to soap bar as example.
The next step is idea generation. This is the step where concept that needs to be
developed for the new product is decided. Many possible ideas will come up to address the
problem that we are working on. Brainstorming from a technology, user, functional and
business is used in order to come up with more and clear idea. Not every idea given will be
implemented, so the idea presented must be screening first before getting into the next step.
This step is important to ensure the benefits and risk of each idea chosen.
When the prototype is done, product testing will be conducted which involved having
people to use the product to determine if it is actually works or not. The suggestion to
improve the product for a better acceptability towards the consumer also can be taken in this
step. The product not only be tested by the employee but also will be tested by the costumer.
Costumer testing is really important as it will determine whether the product is effective and
likeable by the customer or vice versa. Customer also allowed giving suggestion in order to
improve the quality of the product.
After going through product testing, manufacturing of the product will be conducted.
Manufacturing of the product only will be conducted if there is no problem faced during the
product testing. There will be some further decision made here such as the material used,
batch numbers and the manufacture itself. The cost in maintain the quality of the product also
will be considered as we want to keep the cost low so that we can maximize the profits.
The final step of this process is commercialization where we will bring the product to
the potential customers. This process requires physical availability of the product. All
marketing and sales channels will be activated. As going through this phase, customer
feedback will be received and we will need to regularly refine our offering.
