LAST ASSIGNMENT: ARISTOTLE

LOUIE OZARAGA & MARK ANTHONY FAJARDO

A. 2. What makes man similar to and different from other living beings?
 As living creatures here on earth we've got lots of similarities and differences
between human being, animals, and plants. In fact, the similarities of the
human to the animals are having both body and soul. As humans, we get the
five senses: touch, smell, hear, taste, and sight. While the animals, they have
also senses using their own different organs in their body. Just like the
dolphin, whale and bat the sense of hearing. They steer and track prey using
echo location. This is often an awfully advanced variety of hearing that
permits them to work out their surroundings by listening and analyzing the
way sound reflects off objects in their environment. Humans have a virtue so
as to satisfy his/her task. That virtue is taken into account because the
product of the rational control of the passions. By this, we are able to combine
all the aspects of human behaviors and compared to the opposite living
beings. Animals and humans have also feelings. However, the differences
between human being and also the animals are the way how we expect,
chose, and understand things than the animals. Human has the capacity to
think rationally and understand what's wrong and right. While the animals they
only think for their own selves. They didn’t understand or chose what's wrong
and right.
B. 2. Why do people live in society? What is the purpose of the state?
 We think people live in society because by nature, people are social creatures
and they like to socialize with other people who belong in society. And also,
people are like to share their opinions with someone and they wanted
someone to listen to their point of view. That is why we think people live in
societies. We, not that man cannot survive single but living in a society we
can add values and makes it much more meaningful. According to the ancient
philosophers, like Plato and Aristotle, “we live in a society in order to have a
good life. One person living alone in the wild might be able to survive,
depending on how resourceful and ingenious he was, but his life would be
focused only on survival, and it would be hard, because of his intellect and his
imagination, such a man might be able to form an idea of a better life, but he
would have little power to realize it i”. Such power comes from having other
people around us to help us realize a better life in the future. We all know that
the person belongs in the society is the family: a man and a woman come
together and produce children. So, they have companionship in each other,
because the labor allows them to create a higher standard of living for
themselves than either could create his own. According to the manual, “the
purpose of the state is to exist for the intellectual fulfillment of its citizens”. So,
the state has the capability to give the needs of people in the community or in
society.
