PROJECT PROPOSAL

Title of the Project : EXTENSION OF EXISTING MEDICAL CLINIC

Rationale:

As a matter of sound management practice, every organization is expected to provide


health and welfare programs for its employees, because they are considered as one of
the most valuable organizational resources. It is also believed that healthy employees
would deliver the best results and quality output. It is in this context that DSWD Field
Office 1 established a Medical Clinic in 8 September 2017. Initially it started as an
office-clinic for 3 staff (physician, nurse and psychologist) providing medical and
psychological services to DSWD staff and clients. With the creation of Human Resource
Welfare Section in March 2018, the clinic expanded its services to cater to other welfare
concerns including the establishment of lactation station, wellness services and family
welfare needs.

The existing Medical Clinic currently houses the following:


1. Office of the Human Resource Welfare Section where six (6) staff share office
space;
2. Medical Consultation Room where blood pressure monitoring, weight checking
and first aid services are provided;
3. Lactation Station where nursing mothers collect and store milk;
4. Counseling Room where the Psychologist conduct psychological assessment,
stress debriefing, interview and counseling services;
5. Mini-conference room where OJTs/ students are given orientation;
6. Wellness Room where massage services are provided during breaks;
7. Fitness area where basic fitness equipment are stationed like curl benches and
steppers; and
8. Observation Room where ill patients are observed for a short period prior to
transfer to hospital or sending home.

To promote the health, safety and overall wellbeing of the DSWD workforce, aiming to
uplift their morale, strengthen their motivation to help more those who are in need, and
more importantly, recognize the varying needs of DSWD staff in the workplace, an
extension is hereby proposed to accommodate all the essential functions of the welfare
office, medical clinic and the envisioned child-minding space.

Objective:

To provide the HR Welfare Section staff a convenient and spacious working


environment to deliver its essential services and functions

Recommendation:

The implementation of this project will address the evident crowding issues and provide
a conducive working environment in the clinic. It is then recommended for approval and
fund allocation will be sourced out from the ______________ fund.
