BENNETT UNIVERSITY VISIT 21.1.

An educational –cum – guidance visit was planned to one of the new and
upcoming universities in the nearby NCR on January 21, 2017. A group of 61
students from class XI visited the place accompanied by 3 teachers in the school
bus. It was a long journey spanning over 2 hours.

The university was spread over a huge campus and included various departments
for Engineering, BBA, BBA- LLB & Mass Communication .The University is a Times
Group initiative and has Global academic partnerships with the University of
Wharton, Georgia Tech, Babson Global & Cornell University.

The pedagogical emphasis is laid on promoting:

Intellectual rigor- the University ensures a learning, teaching & research


environment that is unique for bringing together diverse academic viewpoints,
best practices, international faculty, constantly evolving curriculum and
opportunities for exchange programs.

Entrepreneurship focus- students are motivated to enterprise ideas at any stage


of their academics.

Life Skills- in Industry, career & business, it is the soft skills that come to the fore
and are a major factor in ensuring success. This is incorporated throughout every
program.

The students get varied & rich exposure through internships, projects,
conferences & engagement platforms- through the Times Group Connect

Overall it was a promising opportunity that could be availed by our students.


WORKSHOP BY AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
PROFESSOR JAGDISH
STEPS TO SUCCESS IN A CAREER  2.11.2016

 
Professor Jagdish heads the Department of Electronic Materials
Engineering, Research School of Physics and Engineering and ANU College
of Science.  He spoke to the students (XI & XII Science)  about the
hardships he faced  to reach where he was today , how the stream of
research is well paying but required relentless efforts and perseverance.
He described the growing economies and changing scenario of science
based research and how lucrative 2 It was an enriching and motivational
interaction with the students.

IIT DELHI – WORKSHOP ON CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE – ISSUES AND
CONCERNS 4.11.16

Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Amit Sen spoke about warning signs to identify sexual
abuse among children and how parents needed to accept their child’s verbatim
and deduce. It was highlighted that schools too needed to bring a pragmatic
approach towards identifying and tackling abuse among children. Sunrise School
Principal talked about Self defense as an integral part of the curriculum. Self
defense trainers also emphasized how children could be trained to tackle a
threatening situation not by fighting but by escaping in time. The NGO Social
Axiom (CACA- Children against Child Abuse) discussed modules developed by
them to bring sexual abuse and prevention awareness at a young age through
classroom teaching. It was an enriching experience.
CAREER WORKSHOP ON LEARNING FOR SUCCESS IN A NEW WORLD.
21.10.16 - XII

The Students of XII attended this workshop which highlighted the


personality traits required for modern day success in today's fast changing
world. The speaker was Professor Suneet Tuli , ex Dean R&D  IIT Delhi
and presently Dean at Bennett University . He shared his rich experience
and life of an engineer and how opportunities had become surplus for
engineers, if only the right personality could be developed. It was a
learning experience for the students and a bright opportunity to be taken
after completing boards at Bennett University which offered a variety of
courses for all streams.
Bennett University a Times Group initiative which offers a variety of
courses in Engineering, Journalism, Management and law.

National Symposium on Higher Education at DPS Sec- 45 Gurgaon by
ICTRC (Institute for Counselor Training and Research Centre)

A group of 15 students visited the venue and attended seminars on Hospitality,


Management and defense services. Various canopies installed disseminated
information about some of the major careers, and individual counseling desks
answered students’ queries. These comprised of Manav Rachna University,
Bennett University, TOEFL group for English testing, IIHM , Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa,
DIT university Dehradun& NIIT university to name just a few. Eminent
Psychologist Dr. Ravindran, spoke to the students on balancing Competitive
exams Vs School exams and also spoke to the counsellors on managing of
behaviour Problems in the classroom. It was an enriching experience.
