PRINCIPLES OF TEACHING 2
Final Exam
Answer:
As we learn the subject Principles of Teaching II, there are different teaching
approaches that will help in delivering lessons. Students have different learning styles
and abilities. That is why each one of these teaching approaches is very much useful for
the development of the students’ learning. Although we can say that there are
differences between those approaches on how it will intruduce the lesson, the process
of teaching the lesson, and the goals to meet after the lesson, all of these teaching
approach will fall on the same main purpose which is to give students a retainable
learnings. Examples are the inquiry based teaching approach, the student will ask
questions and the teacher will guide them to discovering the answer of that question.
Another is collaborative teaching approach, the students will work together in
discovering the learning. These two approaches has different style, but they both share
the same purpose that will result in retainable learnings of the students.

3. What are the essential principles in outcomes based education?Discuss and give
examples of each.
Answer:
A. Clarity of focus- begin with the end in mind and what the teachers want the
students to know.
Example: The teacher wants the students to be able to draw a map at the end of
the lesson, as the teacher begins with this end in mind the intruduction of the
lesson should be showing them a hand made drawing of a map. In this manner
the students will know that they can possibly make the same output at the end
of the lesson.
B. Designing down- once the inteded outcomes are clear. Teachers will design
instruction.
Example: as the teacher knows the desired outcome, the teacher will design an
intructions on how to deliver the step by step procedure or the step by step flow of the
lesson to be able to achieve the desired outcome. In this manner the teacher will know
which startegies are best to use in a particular subject matter.
Example: it can be done with the use of portfolios, with activity log attached to it
and its scores so that the students will be aware that they are the ones who are making
their grades.
Example: it can be done using collaborative approach, with this method using
peer tutoring all students will be able to learn the lesson at the same time with the
advance learner students practicing their learnings by teaching their classmate who
doesnt get the lesson very well.
4. As future teacher, how can you help students develop 21st century skills?
Answer:
I will make everything in balance as possible, although we’re on the modern age
of technology wherin information are just one click away, i believe that bringing them
into real life situations will give them a retainable learnings. Students enjoys watching
videos, it caught their attentions but not all of them can get the knowledge that they
need to learn from the lesson. Balancing this video presentations with giving an
examples of a real life situations or possibly making an activiy where they will
experience a glimpes of its reality will make teaching more effective.
