NEW YORK STATE UPDATE

Empire State Development recently launched a


business reopening look-up tool. A business can
use this tool to determine if they are permitted to be
open at this time and what regulations/restrictions
are in place for their industry at
https://www.businessexpress.ny.gov/app/nyforward

Governor Andrew Cuomo also announced the


launch of the $100 million New York Forward Loan
Fund to provide flexible and affordable loans to
help small businesses, focusing on minority and
women owned small businesses, that did not
receive federal COVID-19 assistance.

Nassau and Suffolk counties are eligible


to access 18% of the fund, according to
Empire State Development.

LOCAL UPDATE

Nassau County will offer $500,000 in loans to help


small businesses, nonprofits and landlords
struggling during the coronavirus pandemic in a
bid to distribute up to $10 million to the entities
from the new state lending program.

Suffolk County is seeking to leverage up to


$250,000 to secure $5 million in loans for
small businesses, nonprofits and landlords
through the new state program.
