Reflection on a Lesson Plan Taught

1. What steps did you go through to create this lesson? With whom did you talk, discuss, or edit your
lesson?
I researched for the powerpoint, and then typed the information and created the powerpoint. Then I
typed up the note sheet using the powerpoint.
2. How did the SOLs and Objectives help focus your instruction? It helped me specifically make the lesson
on those objectives rather than just about substance abuse as a whole.
3. What parts of the instructional plan worked as you anticipated? The mini game worked as I anticipated,
with the class discussion
4. What, if any, adjustments needed to be made once you began? Having them fill out on their sheet
(notes) I was told the warm up question was different than the one on the board.
5. How well did you anticipate the materials needed? I was spot on seeing as I provided the materials.
6. How effective was the assessment you chose to use? (If no assessment was used, what will the future
assessment be and how will you gauge its effectiveness?)I would do a mini quiz on the notes (they
wouldn't be able to use the notes during.)
7. To what degree do you feel that this lesson was a success? What evidence do you have for the success
of the lesson? (Hint: Student learning is the key to a lesson’s success!) I think it was a success because
during the mini game students would refer to what was said during the lesson to talk in their groups and
altogether
8. How did the time spent preparing for your lesson contribute to it’s success? It helped because I was
immediately prepared to present my barrier.
9. If you could do this lesson again with the same students, would you do anything differently? If so, what?
I would make sure the students took proper hand written notes, with questions and a summary, as well
as have them take an assesment.
10. Any last comments/reflections about your lesson? I very much enjoy doing lesson planning.
