Historical method
a technique of presenting information (as in teaching or criticism) in which a topic is

subsequent evolution and development

Project Method
The project method is an educational enterprise in which children solve a practical problem over a
period of several days or weeks. It may involve building a rocket, designing a playground, or publishing a
class newspaper. The projects may be suggested by the teacher, but they are planned and executed as
far as possible by the students themselves, individually or in groups. Project work focuses on applying,
not imparting, specific knowledge or skills, and on improving student involvement and motivation in
order to foster independent thinking, self-confidence, and social responsibility.

Dalton Method
The Dalton Plan is the educational method put forward by Helen Parkhurst in 1908 in the United States. In
an attempt to rectify the ills of the school system of the time, Parkhurst advocated the Dalton Laboratory
Plan, which customizes subjects and study locations to match the student's ability and needs so that each
individual can work to self-driven study plans.
The principle of freedom fosters independence and creativity, beginning with the individual's
interests.
Different students all have different ways of thinking and performing tasks. Providing ample time for
learning and keeping to the pace of how the individual student proceeds nurtures students’ motivation and
approach to learning, as well as their ability to persevere.

exchanges with a variety of people.

Narration
Narration is the use of a written or spoken commentary to convey a story to an audience. Narration
encompasses a set of techniques through which the creator of the story presents their story,
including: Narrative point of view: the perspective through which a story is communicated.

In writing or speech, narration is the process of recounting a sequence of events, real or


imagined. ... For example, if a story is being told by someone insane, lying, or deluded, such as
in Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart," that narrator would be deemed unreliable. The
account itself is called a narrative.
Biographical Method
Help the students to learn the facts and principles along with hardships undergone by the
scientists, their experiment , and improvisations .
Student will realize the importance for hard work, perseverance, success and happiness.

Lecture method
Lecture method is the oldest method of teaching. It is based on the philosophy of idealism.
This method refers to the explanation of the topic to the students. The emphasis is on the
presentation of the content. The teacher clarifies the content matter to the students by using
gestures, simple devices, by changing voice, change in position and facial
expressions. Teachers are more active and students are passive but the teacher also asks
questions to keep the students attentive.
This method is economical and can be used among large number of students. It saves time and
also covers syllabus. It is the simplest method for teachers and does not require any
arrangements. It gives the students training in listening. It provides an opportunity an
opportunity for better clarification of the topics and lying stress on significant ideas. It brings a
personal contact and touch to impress or influence the pupils.

Problem Solving Method


In a problem solving method, children learn by working on problems. This enables the
students to learn new knowledge by facing the problems to be solved. The students are
expected to observe, understand, analyze, interpret find solutions, and perform applications that
lead to a holistic understanding of the concept

Discussion Method
Using discussions as a primary teaching method allows you to stimulate critical thinking. As
you establish a rapport with your students, you can demonstrate that you appreciate their
contributions at the same time that you challenge them to think more deeply and to articulate
their ideas more clearly.

Unit Method
The unit method of instruction gives opportunity for pupils to work together in committees, to
follow problems of their own interest and ability, to be creative, to use their own initiative, and to
plan their own work under guidance.
