Research Questions
Salisbury University

General Information
1. Where is this school located? How long would it take you to get there from Garnet Valley? How do
you feel about this distance?

- Salisbury University is located in Salisbury, Maryland. It takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to get
there. I feel comfortable with this distance because it’s not too close but not too far from home.

2. How many undergraduate students attend this school? How many graduate students?

- There are about 7,650 undergraduate students that attend this school and about 917 graduate students.

3. List three sports, clubs, and/or organizations that the school offers that interest you. Consider Greek
life (fraternities/ sororities), campus ministry, study abroad opportunities, community service
organizations, etc.

- One activity I’m interested in is Younglife. It’s a faith based organization they have that I participate in
now as well. After researching a little, it seems they meet every week and also do fun things on campus
together.
- Another activity I'm interested in is different volunteer work such as Relay For Life. This is something
I’ve participated in when I was younger and enjoyed very much. I also like helping the community so
any volunteer organization would be cool to do.
- The last activity I might be interested in is joining a sorority. My cousin is in a sorority and my brother
is in a fraternity so it’s something a little familiar with. I think it could be an awesome way to meet new
people and a cool experience.

4. What kind of internships are available to students of this school?

Try to find the answer to this question for your prospective major.

- Salisbury has many different internships available to students. The business school here is called the
Perdue School of Business. Students are required to have an Applied Business Learning Experience that
includes a faculty-guided class and work-site internship.

5. What is the campus setting (urban, suburban, rural, etc.)? What kinds of off-campus experiences are
available to students at this school?

- Salisbury’s campus setting is rural. Off-campus there are many things to do such as a zoo very close to
campus, an art museum, and many nature parks.

6. What are three majors that this school offers that you would like to consider?

- 3 majors that I would consider for this school is business management, finance, and social work. I most
likely will do something in the business field but after doing the career research project, social work
seems to fit me too.
7. What is this school’s job placement rate for graduating students?

- Salisbury’s job replacement for graduating students is 48%.

- Yes, Salisbury University does accept the common application.

10. What are the SAT/ACT requirements for this school?

- The SAT requirements for Salisbury range from 1150-1300. I think this is a manageable SAT range for
me to be able to achieve. The ACT requirements range from 20-25. I have not taken the ACT so I’m not
sure if this would be in my range or not.

11. What are the GPA/Class Rank requirements for this school?

- The average GPA at Salisbury University is 3.7. With a GPA of 3.7, Salisbury University requires you
to be above average in your high school class. You'll need at least a mix of A's and B's, with more A's
than B's. You can compensate for a lower GPA with harder classes, like AP or IB classes.

12. What other admissions requirements are there? SAT 2, letters of recommendation, personal
statement, interview, audition, etc.?

- Salisbury also requires the essay as part of your admission. They do not necessarily require letters of
recommendation although it could help. There is also no interview or audition to get in. Lastly, you are
required to take 4 years of english and math, 3 years of science and social studies, and 2 years of a
foreign language.

13. Is this school “Safety” “Reach” or “Middle of the Road” for you?

- I think this school is in between a “safety” and a “middle of the road” school for me. I think this because
right now it may be more a middle of the road school because I haven’t had the chance to take my
SAT’s to know where I may score and fall in the range.
