    QUESTION ONE
    (i) Outline 2 reasons why we study business mathematics. [2]
    (ii) What does the phrase rubbish in rubbish out with respect to calculators and computers?

    QUESTION TWO
    (i) A firm made a loss worth k500 after selling 2000 units of the product at k10 each. What
    was the cost price per unit of the product in ngwee’s? [5]

    (ii) A city bus services charges fair fares. When it increases its fares from k8 to k10 its Arc
    elasticity of demand is given to be 3 (elastic). The former causes the number of journeys
    travelled to drop from 80000 to an unknown value (Q2).

    (a) Calculate the unknown value (Q2). [5]


    (b) What is the percentage decrease in the number of journeys? [3].
