Ways to improve team performance

1. Conduct workforce diversity training to help members


2. Demonstrate your role as a team leader by finding ways to resolve conflict
3. Facilitate communication as a team and between individuals.
4. Set clear work objectives, time frames and expectations. Make sure everyone
understands their role and responsibilities and those of their teammates
5. Set ground rules with the team for operating efficiently and measuring performance
and success.
6. Create a method for reaching consensus and getting buy-in on decisions from all
members. Create a climate of cooperation and collaborative problem-solving.
7. Celebrate accomplishments and recognize the team for their shared contributions
and efforts. Reward the team with a special celebration and bring their success to the
attention of executive sponsors.
8.To create a procedure to give information and monitor understanding and establish
a universal language within the company.  

Role Play Script


Me:                          Good morning, how are you today?
Team member:      I’m good, thank you. Yourself?
                      Very good, thanks! First of all I would like to ask you some questions. How are you
going to contract the meeting with another employee?
Team member:      Well, I will ask him open questions.
Me:                          What do you mean by open questions?
Team member:      I will ask him for his opinion and some suggestions, if he has
any.
Me:                          And how are you going to promote trust in your team?
Team member:      My behavior will be honest, fair consistent, loyal, reliable,
sincere and truthful.
                      Ok, I understand. Demonstrate how you show body language when you are going to
have a meeting with them.
Team member:      I’m going to look at him while he talks, keep eye contact, smile,
speak slow and clear, use a moderate and low tone of voice.
                      Ok, thank you. Have you have any concerns? Can you tell me more about that?
Team member:      Yes, some staff cannot manage their time. It will make a lot of
problem such as send email to me later some staff come to meeting too late. Do you
have any suggestion for this?
Sure. For now, we were determined to create a WBS for the meeting and send it one
week before the meeting. The WBS will cover all topics and also, will clearly give
information for team members about the subject and who is responsible for what.
Team members will be able to prepare themselves to come up with ideas for the
meeting which will save time. Also everybody need to make a work schedule and
send it to me via email on Friday before 5.00pm
Team member:      Oh such as very good idea.
            And we need to talk about the policies and procedures again in next meeting also
review their own duty and do you feel that you understand them?
Team member:      Yes, I definitely do.
            I would also like to explain you the Fair Work Act which is the discrimination on the
basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, marital
status, and family or career responsibilities. And the anti discrimination legislation
which is the right of people to be treated equally. Do you have any additional
questions?
Team member:      No, its all clear thanks you.
            If you have any concern just let me know.Finally we can find a solution to the
employees concerns. And help each other to achieve our goals.
Team member:      That’s good. Thank you very much for today
