Section C. Solve each of the following problems. Write your answer with appropriate units whenever
needed in the spaces provided in the answer sheet. All diagrams drawn are not scale unless
otherwise stated.

1. Lorna bought a bar of chocolates. All the chocolates were identical so Lorna could not tell which
variety each was, until she ate them. Some of the chocolates were soft centers and the rest were hard
centers. After she ate all the chocolates she realized that for every 2 soft centers there were 3 hard
centers. If there were 20 chocolates in the bar at the start, how many were soft centers?

2. A regular hexagon has been made by putting together identical


smaller shapes. How many smaller shapes are needed to make
the hexagon?

3. Jason placed red, blue, green and yellow balls in a bag. There were twice as many red balls in the bag
as blue balls. There were two more green balls than yellow balls. There were 20 balls in the bag. If

4. A bag contains 6 balls, in which 3 are red balls, a green ball, and the remaining balls blue. A ball is
chosen at random from the bag. Which point on the number line shows the chance of selecting a blue
