Data analysis

In order to attain a deep understanding of this qualitative study, the researchers will do a colaizzi’s
phenomenological Data Analysis(Turunen, Perälä, and Meriläinen 1994) that will follow with the theme
development. The steps are the following: 1) the reading and re-reading of transcribed data in order to
achieve a thorough interpretation of the perspectives or thoughts of the interviewees; (2) the
identification of small units called meaning units; (3) the transformation of meaning units from the
literal reactions of the interviewees (emic) to the basic understanding of the researchers (etic); (4) the
sorting of formulated meanings groups, clusters of themes and themes by means of a dendogram
(Benabdeslem & Bennani, 2006); (5) producing a simulacrum or visual representation of findings; (6)
subjecting emerging themes to triangulation and participant review procedures to ensure validity anata
credibility (Brear, 2018)
