Motivation letter

The word ‘future’ is about following a person’s passion, dream and whatever the goals in mind .A
person should always be willing to achieve those goals and dreams. Problems might arise on the way
of achieving one’s own dream, but there should always be a motivating energy to carry on and never
give up.

When I was a kid, I used to fix any broken object in the house, and I even made a bike out of certain
objects which I have broken. From that time onwards, I started to love everything related to
Mechanical studies. I have worked hard to get an admission at Damascus University; the moment I got
admission, I felt that my dreams are starting to become true. The feeling of achievement did not last
long because the crisis started in Syria and the admission came from a university which is far from my
hometown. Despite the dangerous situation in Damascus I have decided to complete my degree at
Damascus University. I was overjoyed and excited because of the increased knowledge that I received;
such as, how the way design theory works, how the moving system for machines goes, how to design
and draw the parts of the machine by SOILDWORKS and how they can be manufactured by several
ways such as CNC machine, and I also learned about the way to write programming for CNC machine
and casting. I have learned about the heating metal, the properties of metal, the types of polymer and
synthesizing .I learned about the management of processes and the maintenance of the machine.

When I was an undergraduate at Damascus university a professor asked the students “who knows
about 3d printing? “.It was the first time I hear about 3d printing and I started to discover this world
step by step and this is where my journey began with 3d printing. I started to dedicate myself to learn
about the types of 3d printing and how the process goes. I started learning passionately about the
type of applied materials such as, “polymers, metal, composite material ….etc. “After graduating in
2017, I became keen enough to think about getting a master’s degree in Additive Manufacturing which
is called 3d printing.

Later on, I got an admission in an Indian scholarship provided by our government. I have faced
difficulties at first because India was a new country for me, with a new culture, 780 languages,
different weather and spicy types of food. All these were challenges that I had to face in order to
accomplish my goals. The reason I joined Marwadi University in Rajkot was to achieve my ambitions
of learning about Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD-CAM). Indeed, I
learned about the process of manufacturing and I went deep in the theory of design, the additive
manufacturing. In Marwadi University, I have started my work in additive manufacturing (AM) and I
am still working on developing Polydimethsilioxane(PDMS) in Additive Manufacturing to get good
knowledge about additive manufacturing. There is nothing that I admire more than the challenge of
printing the materials in 3d printing machine especially that I failed many times before finally passing
the finals.

Additive manufacturing is the weapon of the future because it is applied in many medical fields,
construction, industrial, education, and aerospace. I have a strong desire to become a counsellor in
additive manufacturing, and for that to happen, I should complete the Doctoral in additive
manufacturing and create my own great impact in this field. My ultimate aim is to join your groups
with the hope that I acquire new knowledge and experience in your university.
