Introduction
The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a marquee
in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini"
car model names.BMW acquired the marquee in 1994 when it bought Rover Group (formerly
British Leyland), which owned Mini, among other brands. Mini is Britain’s one of the most
selling Automobile. Mini was first launched in 1959 by British Motor Corporation. Mini rolls of
production line in every 68 seconds. In 1994 Mini came with World famous BMW car. The
company had produced a new car called Mini cooper which was their first two sitter sports car.

Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper is a car of Mini first introduced by John Cooper. It is the first two-seater sports car
of Mini which is powered by a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine with an impressive
acceleration kick at naught to 97 kilometer per hour in just 6.1 seconds. It’s sleek lightweight
with an angled roof helped to lower the center of gravity and increased speed. In 1994, BMW
owned Mini. Since then, it has become one of the world’s leading cars. When BMW took the
ownership of Mini, they increased the production of Mini and soon it reached a significant
milestone of producing two million cars. Today’s Mini has such a brand power that British Prime
Minister David Cameron came to mark the launch of this landmark car.

The manufacturing of Mini Coupe is divided into 3 stages

Body in White
Body-In-White (BIW) Engineering & Manufacturing solution is developed specifically to
address the needs of body-in-white product and process engineers. Robots assemble 425

Painting
The next step is Painting. The paint shop is consist of over 60000 cubic meter. Each car will
travel 10 km before its makeover is complete. Before painting the car goes to a rigorous
preparation and cleaning process. It is called chemical bath and rinsing. Paint guns and Robots
both are used for painting purpose. After the paint is done an oven baked ensures that the coat is
dry. If there find any defect then marked the defect and then removing the defect by polishing
and wax. Once the painting process is complete, a final oven baked ensures the new coat is dry.
If any defects found they are marked and buffered out a last polish and wax is applied. By doing
all these, now minis are ready for the 3rd stage, which is assembly.

Assembly
The painted structures are then sent into the greatest creation zone in Oxford for amassing. This
progression is the most critical and tedious process among all. This incorporates 5 noteworthy
errands and profoundly talented specialists partitioned into two groups and every one of the
laborers are dispensed of 68 seconds to play out their errands. The specialists joined two

through the metal sending the wave back to the crew.
