4. Remove the fitments, and carefully place the unit on the ground on a clean,
soft surface, or on the packaging material.
Note: Make sure to keep the unit clean from moisture and dirt. Put the
protective cap on if a connector is not used.
4 Installation Recommendations
— Sunlight on dark paint can increase the temperature of the unit, causing it to
shut down.
— Failure modes directly related to overheating due to painting are not valid for
repair within the scope of the warranty or standard service contract.
— For repairs within the warranty period or a standard service contract, the
customer will be charged the additional costs for replacing all painted parts
of the unit or the complete unit.
5 Installation Requirements
The battery is installed on the rail together with the rail-mounted power units
and radios.
The batteries are typically installed beside the power unit but can also be
installed above and below it.

The push button is used to activate the State of Charge (SoC) indication. After the
button is pressed, the SoC indicator is shown for a few seconds. The SoC indicator
shows the charge level of the battery and it can have two modes as described in
Table 4.
If the batteries are connected in parallel, the red fault optical indicator starts to
flash after a complete discharge of the batteries. This indicates that the batteries
have disconnected internally. If power is applied again, the flashing stops. If
power is not applied, the flashing stops after approximately one hour.
For more information about optical indicators, see Indicators, Buttons, and
Switches.

7 Parallel Batteries
The first Battery 6313 unit in a chain is connected to Power 6302 and the units
are connected by a battery cable. Up to three Battery 6313 can be connected in
parallel. Figure 6, Figure 7, and Figure 8 show the possible cascading
configurations. Other configuration settings are not supported.
Note: Make sure that the protective cap is on if a connector is not used.
