IGenius Abstract

Definition of the problem/perception of the need

IGenius is an IS developed for the residential complex “Caminos del viento 2” with the clear
purpose to assist the administrators in many different areas of the managing on the residential
complex; one of the most important aspects is to inform the residents about events or activities
carried out faster and efficiently because due to the size of the complex, these cannot be informed
properly. Also, it is very complicated and disorganized to keep records of things like the status and
maintenance of the machinery and infrastructure.

IGenius main goal is to manage great amounts of information in short periods of time and handle it
over to its receiver on time; also simplify the time and effort needed to store information related
to the habitants and their walk though the residential complex, additionally, looks for being a
channel of communication between residents and the administrators, to create and carry out new
events or request for the community hall.

The developers applied their knowledge and skills to develop IGenius. It involved all the stages of
the software development life cycle. First, data was gathered from the administrative council of the
residential complex; as a result, information was analyzed to identify the requirements, these
requirements were processed and became the architectural base to develop and design the
solution; therefore, the framework was selected based on the architecture. At the moment,
IGenius is on the implementation stage, the developers are coding the application.
