Guidelines

Site Data:

1) Export the site database in EET format from the TCP.

2) Create a new project in MCOM2001. Select the frequency group file and save the
project into a folder. For Celcom LUX, the frequency group file is in the G Drive 1.
Below shows an example of frequency group text file.

User can also check the formatting of the file in the Help Menu under topic:
Technical Description  Frequency Grp Text file

Tips: Try saving all the necessary files needed to be imported into the same directory that will
save the imported output file. This will avoid link problems especially MCOM from crashing
down.

3) Import the file in MCOM2001 through the ‘Import Wizard’ in the ‘Cell-Planning’ tab
menu. User will be prompt to specify a directory on where to save all the output files.
4) After importing the EET site database, go through the directory on where all the
output files has been save. The folder will content Site and Mcomtem .tab, .dat, .id
and .map files plus MCOM2001 Site Data in text form.
5) If user choose to have additional information such as LAC or clusterisation in
MCOM, edit the MCOM2001 Site Data file. There are columns of ‘Flags’ where
user can enter information such as the LAC number. Information such as LAC are
included in TCP EET exported file, but it were not keyed into TCP, the above
procedure can be done.
6) Once edition has been carried out, re-import the site database (MCOM2001 Site
Data.txt) in the same project that was created earlier.
7) Create ‘New Table’ from the File Menu tab and check the ‘Add to Current Mapper’
box. User will be prompt a name for the new .tab file.
8) Create a new thematic map from the ‘Map’ menu. This enable user to construct a
new legend window from layers in the active window. In this Celcom LUX project,
it can be either LAC or clusterisation information which was entered in any one of the
‘Flag’s.

Importing MCOM2001 Text Database

Note: The help path directory may change when MCOM is upgraded.

2) Below shows an example of a carrier text file.

For Celcom LUX, the carrier text file can be found in the local G Drive2.
