Computer‐based instruction

As you know, today, computer-based instruction is used all over the world
because of the inability of pupils or students to attend classes. Because of this more and
more people today support the idea of studying from home, instead of actual
attendance of schools or universities. It is very convenient, on the one hand.
However, the question of online studying as every other topic has its pros and
cons. Since the computer was invented, people knew they would be able to do some
jobs with the help of it. All the data has been automatically stored in electronic format.
It was much easier to keep the information on discs than in huge files. As the Internet
was invented, things have become even easier.
There is no doubt that education is an essential part of every person’s life. Some
people consider distance learning the most effective sort of education, while others do
not agree with this point of view. To my mind, online learning has numerous
advantages.
In my opinion distance learning provides people with the great opportunity not to
waste their time. For instance, students should not get to the place where the lesson
takes part because the computer is only thing they need to get knowledge.
Nevertheless, there are those who suppose that traditional way of getting education is
more preferable for people. According to their opinion, a computer screen is a real
obstacle and distractor in assimilating new knowledge. Information is perceived better
when people have a direct eye-to-eye contact with their teacher. Personally, I do not
agree with the above opinion. I am convinced that for a person who is really determined
in getting new knowledge the computer screen will not bring any difficulties.
More than that, this way offers the student many programs that should facilitate
the completion of tasks. The most useful program that I used during this time is of
course Microsoft Teams. This is a great program I used more than 2 months and I can
say with confidence that it is very convenient for pupils and students. Here we can
organize meetings and use video and audio connection with our teacher.
The lack of e-learning, in my opinion, could be the absence of group
communication. But, as you know we have a lot of meetings with our group where we
can study together, we speak with our teacher and of course with each other.
Honestly, I’m feeling good with online studying, I’m at home, I can drink a cup of
tea and listen my teacher. But of course I miss a lot live communication with my friends
and classmates, new acquaintances and the real atmosphere of student life.
