ENG 611 ESP Final Project (25%)


Syllabus Design and One unit of lesson & materials development
Submission Deadline: June 15, 2020

Directions:
1. Design a syllabus based on your findings (identification of needs), using appendix 2
format.
2. Next, develop one unit of lesson (of 3 meetings, @ 90 minutes) and the
accompanying materials. For the lesson plan format, use appendix 1
3) The organization of your report should be:
a. Introduction (400-500 words). This section consists of :
- summarizes the general idea of your needs analysis and its findings (the
identified needs),
- the rationale: provide the reasonings behind your syllabus design, use
references or theories to support your reasonings, and explanation of why you
use particular organizations of content, or language functions, or micro-skills,
etc.
b. The syllabus (follow the appendix 2 format)
c. The unit: provide enough details for the reader to understand your plan (see
Scrivener, 2005, p. 122-123 for lesson plan format in appendix 1).
d. Conclusions
e. Appendix: any handouts, texts or other type of teaching aids that your lesson
plan(s) require.
f. References (cited in your paper).

5) Due date: June 15, 2020 (printed form and electronic file).

PS: The lesson unit needs to be originally your design, not from other textbooks

researchers.
