We use this Future Tense when the decision about the future plans has already been made:

• Vanessa is going to watch T.V. until she finish her English homework.
• Next year, I am going to stop eating so much junk food.
• They are going to travel to Cartagena in two weeks.

We use this Future Tense to predict something that we think is certain to happen or which we have evidence for now:

• It is going to rain again soon. (The speaker can probably see dark the sky)
• He is going to play football next weekend. ( The speaker now, he likes to play football on weekends)

We use this Future Tense to give command or state that something is obligatory:

• You are going to pick up all toys right now. This room is a mess! (Mother to a child)
