ELEC 3166 Lab 2 Instructions

1. If you need help with using Multisim please read through the Multisim Primer
(Guide) that I Have attached to Moodle so you can become familiar using
Moodle.

2. The due date for this lab 2 is in Moodle. Late labs will not be accepted.
You will use the Multisim file call Lab2 MakeSine to investigate the addition of
periodic waves.

3. Open the Make Sine file. Add a 2-channel o-scope and a spectrum analyser.

4. Connect Channel A of the Scope to the output of the 1Khz Square-wave

generator. Connect the Spectrum Analyzer to the same point. The settings for
the o-scope and spectrum analyzer are below.

5. Run the simulation. Sketch the output signal from the o-scope and the analyzer,
make sure you label your axis for both sketches.

6. Now move the o-scope and spectrum analyzer connection from the 1KHz output
to the 3KHz and repeat steps 4 and 5. Continue this same operation for all the
square wave generator outputs. (1KHz to 21 Khz generators)

7. Discuss the results, how do the output signals change at each sig gen output?
What does the final sign gen output at 21KHz look like? Is this what you
expected? Explain why.
