There is a home language for every person

As the whisper enters our ears
We try to make it out and understand it
So that we will not forget as we fear.

In a place where people speak your home language

That constant reminder keeps banging in your head
And yet your mother tongue ends up vanquished
Then everybody else ends up ahead.

In the end, it’s all a struggle

Was it worth it? I’ve been through hell
Maybe the result is inevitable
I might as well bid my mother tongue farewell.
