III. Learning Tasks:


A. Engagement:
a. Say: Who among you here often have visitors in their house? Upon knowing
that there will be visitor, how do you prepare for that? (This is where pupils can
apply what you they have learned from their Home Economics class.)
b. Say: Today, we will identify the ways and means how to guard ourselves against
this unpleasant visitor.Since today is our #throwbackThursday,this means
that I will bring you to a not-so distant past. Motivation. Let the pupils
watch a video about a typhoon.
c. Ask the following questions:
1. ”Is the video familiar to you? What did you see in the video?”
2. “Based on the video clip, what kind of visitor are we avoiding?”
3. “What happened in the video?”
4. “Why do you think this happened to them?”
5. “How can you keep yourself safe in this kind of situation?

6. “If you were on his/her shoe, how do you treat this kind of visitor-
typhoon when it is approaching?”
7. “What are the preparations that you need to do?”

B. Exploration: Differentiated Instruction


a. Present the lesson. Say: “Today we are going to identify the safety
precautions before a typhoon.”
b. Pupils are grouped based on their strengths and interests.
c. Set the norms in doing an activity.
d. Each group will be given a set of materials.
e. The teacher will give the procedure of the activity.

PROCEDURE:
1. Each group will show how to prepare for an approaching typhoon
through different presentations:
Group A: Create a hashtag #
Group B: Create a four-line or more (freestyle) poem
Group C: Present a Role Play
Group D: Object interpretation
2. Each group will be given 10 minutes to prepare for their presentation.
3. Five minutes will be allotted for each group to present.
4. During the presentation, each group must provide explanations about
their performance.

f. The teacher will move around to check on the pupils’ work.


C. Explanation
 Let the pupils present their answer by explaining their output.
 Show an E-Learning video about disaster preparedness.
 Lead the pupils to explain the necessary things in preparing for an
approaching typhoon. ?(integration of content in Health)
 Give emphasis on the importance of teamwork, cooperation and
preparedness.

D. Elaboration
1. Discuss more about what to do before a typhoon.
2. Lead the pupils to identify more precautionary measures before a
typhoon.
3. Ask the pupils to explain why there is a need to prepare before a
typhoon.
