Semi- detailed Lesson Plan in ICT Grade 7

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
a. identify the components of computer system and their functions;
b. appreciate the importance of output devices in the physical world; and
c. perform the functions of each component of computer system by rapping,
singing, and pantomiming.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Components of Computer System and their Functions
Reference: Internet, K-12 Entrep-Based PC Hardware Servicing
Materials: Visual aids, Pictures, Projector, Laptop
Skills: Listening

Value Focus: Giving importance of output devices in the physical world


Strategies: Differentiated Instructions, Brainstorming, Game, and Video Presentation
III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer

2. Greetings

3. Classroom Management
4. Checking of Attendance
5. Review
 The teacher will have a brief recap about yesterday’s topic which is the
different Microsoft Office applications.
6. Motivation
 The teacher will divide the class into three groups. The 3 groups will play
the game four pics-5 words. Each group will be given 3 minutes to
analyse what those 4 given items is all about.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
 The teacher will introduce the topic.
 The teacher will introduce the learning objectives.
2. Discussion
 The teacher will define what a computer is.
 The teacher will show a video presentation about the components of
computer system and their functions.
 Discuss the components of computer system and their functions.
 Show examples of each component.

Values Integration:
 The teacher will ask one question to the students based on the video
presentation.

 How do the output devices help our physical world?

3. Application
 The class will be divided into three groups. Each group will perform the
functions of each component by singing, rapping and pantomiming. Each
group will be given 5 minutes to prepare their performance.

4. Generalization
 The teacher will conduct a short review of the topic.
 The students will answer these given questions:
1. What is a computer?
2. What are the components of computer system?
3. What are the functions of each component of computer system?
4. Give 1 example of input devices?
5. Give 1 example of output devices?
6. Give 1 example of storage devices?
7. Give 1 example of processing devices.

IV. Evaluation
Directions: Identify the component of a computer system according to its uses. Write
your answer in a ¼ sheet of paper.
1. It functions as the brain of the computer.
2. It is used to create back-up files for future use.
3. It is a device used to input text and characters into the computer.
4. It is the main storage of the computer.
5. It displays text, pictures and videos.
6. It converts physical input to binary information.
7. It converts binary information to physical output.
8. It is device that performs calculations, process information, stores files, and it displays and
prints.
9. It stores information.
10. It converts the letter to binary.
