1. Using the example of the sealed cylinder, the volume of gas at the start is 50cm3 with a
pressure of 1.2 x 105 Pascals. The piston is pushed slowly into the syringe until the 2nd
pressure on the gauge reads 2.0 x 105 Pascals. What is the final volume of the gas?
2. A cylinder of compressed gas has a volume of 85 dm3 and a pressure of 984 kPa. What
volume would the gas occupy if allowed to escape into a balloon at a 2nd pressure of 125
kPa?
3. First Pressure is 5 atm, a given example of a gas occupies 75 L (first volume). The gas is
compressed to a final volume of 30 L (second volume). What is the final pressure?
