Problems in Ship Design

• In ship design there is, in general, no simple solution to

any given project.
• The result is a compromise between many
requirements which need correct evaluation.
• Ship design is a diverse enterprise and many items have
to be coordinated to create an acceptable unit.
• Such items are propelling machinery, equipment, cargo
handling, accommodation, and not least, earning
capacity.
