ADVENT PRACTICES 2016

PRAYER

1. PRAYER PARTNER

 Picking of names of prayer partners during the evening recreation on the first Sunday of
Advent. November 27,2016 (c/o Sister Zita,OSB)
 In this season we are encourage to write a word/statement of affirmation or
encouragement to our prayer partner together with our prayer/s for them.
 During the revelation on the evening recreation on Christmas, each one will give her
prayer partner a meaningful Biblical passage in a creative way.

2. LIGHTING OF ADVENT CANDLE

 Liturgy preparation- c/o Sister Mary Bernard, OSB


 In the Chapel- the lighting of the candle will be done before I Vespers of every Sunday in
Advent.

1st Sunday- Aspirant Kamille


2nd Sunday- Postulant Kris
3rd Sunday- Novice Cherry
4th Sunday- Sister Pauline, OSB

While in the parlor, the lighting of the candle will be done during the evening recreation
on the Sundays of Advent.

1st Sunday- Postulant Resa


2nd Sunday- Sister Daniela,OSB
3rd Sunday- Sister Mary Jerome, OSB
4th Sunday- Sister Frideswida, OSB

3. PREPARING THE CRIB FOR THE BABY JESUS

 A crib will be prepared for the baby Jesus, this will be set at the end of the statio
passage before entering the chapel. Shredded paper/s that represent good deed/s or
any form of penance will be placed in the crib. (c/o Postulant Kris and Sister Zita,OSB)

4. ANTICIPATING THE LORD’S COMING IN OUR PERSONAL AND COMMUNAL PRAYER

 Seeking intense communing with the Lord in personal prayer, lectio divina, and or
spiritual reading.
 During Vespers in Advent, except on Sundays, we are encourage to bring the concerns
of the people all over the world through our offering of intention/s.

5. PREPARING OUR HEARTS


 Advent penitential rite with confession. (Fr. Rey- Canossian)
