Waymaker God: A Brief Background To The Passage
Waymaker God: A Brief Background To The Passage
Isaiah 43:15-19
16
This is what the LORD says—
he who made a way through the sea,
17
who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
18
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
At nangyari nga po itong Babylonian exile in 586 BC.
2. Pagkatapos po, Ilalabas na sila ng Panginoon, but along the way bago po sila tumawid
sa Red sea, na-trap sila and they do not know what to do and where to go.
3. And the Lord is also telling in our text, Yung captivity na mararanasan nila sa Babylon,
na mauulit yung pagkabihag niyo, na hindi man ngayon pero darating yung difficult time
sa buhay mo.
Pero pinapalakas po tayo ng Lord ditto kung saan po sinasabi Niya na Yes you have gone
through or you will go through this difficult or impossible time in your life. But I want you to have
confidence in me because I am your Way Maker.
- As we walk with the Lord, nakikilala natin kung sino ang Panginoon sa ating buhay, we begin
to see that He is our Healer, He is our Master, He is our Light, He is our Provider.
Nagpapakilala po ang Diyos and He wants us to know Him more. That in the midst of every
situation we must have a new revelation of who God is. Familiarity brings contentment but be
aware not to become so familiar that we lose sight of the newness and freshness of who Jesus
is.
Not only that we should be reminded of who He is when times seems impossible but we must
be reminded of what He did in the past.
- In verse 16, God reminded the people that He made a way through the sea. (pinaalalahanan
Yung pagliligtas Niya
sa mga Israelites sa Egypt? Ano pong kinalaman nun sa magiging pagkabihag nila sa Babylon?
Maybe God wants to remind them, Anak inalis na kita sa Egypt naalala mo?
Yung times that they have been a slave and trapped in Egypt. Pinapaalala ng Lord kasi baka
some of us here are still slaves to sins, habits, sickness, past, You know God wants to set
you free.
- If alcohol is holding you, get up and leave that land,
- If an addiction is holding you, get up and leave that land,
- Or a bad habit is holding you, get up and leave that land,
- if an affair is holding you, get up and leave that land
The Lord will bring you into a good and spacious place, why spacious? Because you’re going to
need a plenty of land to grow a great big harvest.
God will position you into a harvest.
He will position to a place where the harvest of souls is plenty. A place where He will bless you.
God wants to remind them also, Anak naalala mo kung paano kita ano yung
God is telling them how they experienced a difficult time when they are still slave in Egypt and
How they will experience a same difficult time in Babylon.
naransan niyo ulit yung parehong pangyayari? Parang masasabi niyo, ganito na naman. Naulit
na naman.
- God wants to tell you na kung paano ka Niya niligtas o tinugon nung panahon na yun,
He will also do the same.
When the Israelites began their journey, God specifically lead them in a path where they
Exodus 13:17 tells us ‘When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the
road through the Philistine country(Filistia), though that was shorter. Hindi sila
pinaraan dun ng Diyos bagamat yun yung pinakamalapit o pinakamaiksing daan
(Sometimes, what seems to be the shorter way is not the best way). For God said,
"If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." So God led the
people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of
Egypt armed for battle.’
(Exo. 14:1-3)
With no way back and no way forward, God does what God does best - The
impossible.
He made a way where, naturally speaking, there was no way. ‘ Moses answered the
people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will
bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will
fight for you; you need only to be still."... Then Moses stretched out his hand over the
sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned
it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry
ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.’ (Exodus 14:13-14, 21-22)
When you are trap into a situation and don’t see a way out of it, it is for God to show His
gory
God wants to reveal His glory to you.
Lazarus death
John 11:4
When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's
glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it."
When He brings you into an impossible situation it is to show you that with Him all things are
possible and many of you here today are facing a red sea in your life.
This is the way the Lord has led you to show you and to show the world that He can make a
way into the red sea.
So, this is what God wanted the people of Israel in the days of Isaiah to remember. He is STILL
the God who makes a way through the sea.
Sabi po sa kanta: You tore the veil, You made a way when You said that it is done
Ibig sabihin po when Jesus died and said that it is done, He set us free from the power of sin,
from bondages. His death gave us the confidence to come to the Father
Heb. 10:19-20
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by
the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,
*But He doesn’t want us to just dwell (manatili) in the past, but to keep moving forward.
(magpatuloy na sumulong) Because He will do something new.
18
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
The verse earlier on in Isaiah chapter 43:2 says ‘When you pass through the waters, I will be
with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk
through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.’ But praise God that
He also adds that ‘I will be with you!’ That makes all the difference.
sumasaiyo. Wag kang hahakbang ng walang pangungusap ng Diyos. Wag kang hahakbang
kung hindi ka sasamahan ng Panginoon.
Israel is told to look to the past by remembering the great things God did for them
at the Red Sea. But in Isa. 43:18-19
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs
up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
(Isaiah 43:18-19)
This shows us that there is a sense in which we remember the past, in terms of God’s
great work on our behalf.
There is also a sense in which we must forsake and forget the past, with all it’s
discouragement and defeat and move on to what God has for us in the future.
God wants to put their eyes on the new work He will do,(Ito po yung pangako Niya e) so
it begins with a reminder to not remember the former things.
If they are stuck in failure and sin and discouragement of the past they will never go
forward to the new things God has for them.
IN ORDER FOR YOU TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WAY, YOU NEED TO MOVE
FORWARD. TAKE ACTION.
BEGIN TO STEP OUT IN FAITH AND SAY “THIS SITUATION IS GONNA CHANGE”
Be intentional! However, It is not the intention per se that will determine your destiny but
by the direction you take.
Conclusion
You may be in the place right now where you can see the mighty waters rising around you. The
trials and difficulties of this life may be coming against you in way that seems like there is no
way out. If that is so then please remember that God is One who ‘makes a way’.
Ang prayer ko po this morning na dumating man tayo sa pagkakataon na it seems that there is
no way out, parang imposible na maayos o walang kaparaanan. Prayer ko po na Makita natin
ang Diyos ay gumagawa ng daan, ng kaparaanan at himala, With Him all things are possible.
