1. A liquefied mixture of n-butane, n-pentane, and n-hexane has the following composition:
C4H10 50%
C5H12 30%
C6H14 20%
For this mixture, calculate:
a. The mass fraction of each component
b. The mole fraction of each component

2. A solution of HNO3 in water has a specific gravity of 1.10 at 25oC. The concentration of the HNO3 is
15 g/L solution. Determine the mole fraction of HNO3 in the solution.

3. Nitrogen gas exits a heater at a rate of 6 lb/min at a temperature of 150 oF and pressure of 600 psi
(absolute). Calculate the volumetric flow rate of nitrogen. HINT: use the ideal gas law.
