TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Students will be able to describe key differences between diversity and inclusion and understand how
they work together
Students will be able to describe at least two of the protected grounds of discrimination
Students will be able to discuss the purpose of employment equity legislation
Students will be able to generate ways they can be more inclusive in their contemporary workplaces

8:50-9:00 Diversity and Inclusion what’s the difference?
9:00-9:15 Why Diversity and Inclusion is important in the IT Industry
9:15-9:25 Equality vs Equity
9:25-9:40 (15 Minute Break)
9:40-9:50 Why employment equity is important and how it works
9:40-9:55 What is discrimination? What are the protected grounds of discrimination?
9:55-10:10 Discussion of Inclusion in the workplace/how to be an ally
10:10-10:25 Activities – Perception Game & Critical Incident
10:25-10:30 Check-in: Evaluation surveys
