“According to Marvin Velasco (2018), one of the PLDT’s worker (Philippine

Long Distance Telephone Company) PLDT Home, was claimed to be providing unsatisfactory
service and never-ending eruption of complaints coming from customers because of slow
internet connections and they terminated 7000 contracts from its workforce, causing of a lot of
conflicts to many homes and offices with internet problems.”

What is the product or service being offered?
 The products being offered by the PLDT Inc. an extensive range of telecommunications
services across the country. Well, these are the country’s leading broadbands in the
Philippines which provide telecom services at one’s home and made families to stay
connected with others. It offers Fibr, Telpad, Ultera, and USL services.

II. IDENTIFY THE CUSTOMERS

Who are the target customers?
 The target customers of this company are the families and workers who live in the
Philippines that require fast and stable internet connection for complying office works
and staying connected to other members of family. Lastly, especially for students for
school works, leisure and communication.

III. EVALUATING THE FOUNDING TEAM

What makes the business or company’s founding team a good one?
  The PLDT Corporation’s founding team, is the Board of Directors. The Boards
established commitees such as the Advisory Board, Audit Committee, Risk Committee,
Corporate Governance and Nomination Committee, Executive Compensation Committee,
and Technology Strategy Committee, have capable of knowledge and experience to put
in order to their capabilities in dealing conflicts and to be responsible to their specific
areas and report directly to the Board for its consideration. Also, it is their responsibilities
to deal financial policy, risk management policy and organization overview.

IV. STUDYING THE COMPETITION

Give the top competitor/s of your assigned business, and why it became its
greatest competitor.
 The competition between two largest telecommunications companies is heating up.
PLDT remains the top Internet provider in our country but anytime PLDT is ready to
compete to their top competitor, Globe Telecom. Globe Telecom is the PLDT’s long-
time biggest rival has competitive pricing for similar products with PLDT so they
remained to be another trusted ISP (Internet Service Provider) nationwide. All of their
plans are Amazon Prime Video, DisneyLife, iFlix, FOX+ and HOOQ subscriptions for 6
months.

IDENTIFY TWO OR THREE KEY PROBLEMS IN THE ABOVE EVALUATION
 The key problems of this business are:
 PLDT failed to meet the majority of their customers on having slow
internet connections. Also the leadership failures will affect badly to every
aspect of the PLDT’s business. The leadership is needed from financial
management to employee management.
 Lack of practices to employees on how to handle customer’s concerns.
Many employees failed to remain calm and continue to make a mistake
that costs the business a lot. Inability to listen concerns, lack of trust to
each worker and etc.
 PLDT Inc. ignoring any unsatisfactory comments and reports filed from
customers all over the country. This way can make the business will fail
to contact with their customers.

HOW DO THEY IMPACT THE BUSINESS OR COMPANY?

 We know that failure is a term that most of businessman would avoid. These key
problems impact the PLDT with decreased numbers and lot of money costs. It is
important to understand customers which in results into strong relationships but the
business failed to understand them. Poor management of employees can result in
customers become angry. Maybe the product or services isn’t pleasing them because it
wasn’t enough. Unfortunately, that is why their company has become the target and
outlet for their rants and anger.
