Prof. K. P. Hewagamage,
Head/UCSC,
University of Colombo,
Colombo,

Dear Prof. Hewagamage,

MIND Scholarships for Undergraduates 2020/2021

As you are aware, a number of your undergraduate students have received MIND scholarships in
previous years, and performed with great distinction. The primary objective of our scholarship
programme is to increase the awareness of young scholars on issues relating to sustainable
development. Past scholars have become a part of the core group of young people, who we feel
will be the future leaders of Sri Lanka.

MIND is extending this facility for the academic year 2020/2021. Candidates will be assessed on
both performance and need, and have to satisfy the following conditions.

1. Be full-time 3rd year students.

2. Maintain at least a B average or equivalent during the past years.
3. Demonstrate competence in English, both spoken and written.
4. Although there is no upper limit on family income (for eligibility), 20% of ranking marks will be
allocated for financial need.

The scholarship will be valued at Rs.4000/- per month for the duration of the 4th year and will be
paid quarterly, directly to the students.

We would be grateful if you would give publicity to MIND scholarships among eligible
undergraduates. The application is available on line at http://www.mindlanka.org and the eligible
students are required to apply on-line.

Students need to produce original certificates (educational, sports, etc.) if they are called for
interviews. The closing date for the application is Friday, 31st July 2020. Please contact MIND staff
for any further details (Tele: 011 2590131).

We look forward to collaborating with you in this regard.

Yours sincerely,

Sria Munasinghe
