BUYING ONLINE FROM MCDONALDS

THE FLOW OF BUYING ONLINE
As a basic thing when relate to online platform, first thing first customer must have the
account for the applications. For example, I choosing McDonalds, so first step is sing up at
McDonald’s application. Once sing up, there are a few categories such as deals, mcdelivery,
feedback and others. For online buying, next step is to register at mcdelivery section. This is
important because all the information of delivering will specified in there such as address,
email, number phone and others.
Next step is, cutomer have to choose the product and add to cart before they made the
confirmation to buy. There have two choise for what time the product will be deliver.
Customer can choose either order now or order in advance which is minimum of two hour
before delivery time. When the confirmation is done, customer can make payment process
which is can pay by cash or online payment. Once the payment have been done, it will give
the detail of the product and the time of deliver. Lastly, the product will arrive safetly to
customer.
JUSTIFICATION ON PRODUCT

I choose McDonalds as my buying online platform is because McDonalds is one of the best
company of fast food that have good reputation in term of product and service. Even during
the restrictive movement of order, they manage to provide service to customer very well.
When it comes to online, mobile ordering apps are the next step in food technology making
this process more efficient.

Mobile ordering apps, through optimizing payment speed, rewarding loyalty, or maximizing
accessibility when ordering remotely, are a key to helping these brands get the edge up on
their competitors. Mobile ordering is supposed to be a quicker alternative to waiting in line.
The fact that McDonald’s already has a well-implemented system for processing orders
makes the disappointment even greater.

Once an order is placed, it is instantaneously moved to the in-store display, which leads to
timely service and transparency on where your order is in the queue. This automated system
has led to success with the restaurant’s in-store kiosks; they just need to capture that same
magic on phones.

Lastly why I choose McDonalds is, for me the apps have a few function and not for online
order only. Customers can redeem through the deals section in the apps, and there is
coupon where can attract customer to use it.
MARKETING MIX OF MCDONALD COMPANY

The marketing mix defines the strategies and tactics that a company uses to reach target
customers, in terms of products, place, promotion, and price (the 4Ps). In this business
analysis case, McDonald’s has corporate standards that its marketing mix applies globally.
The specifics of the 4P variables define the various strategies and tactics that McDonald’s
uses in executing its marketing plan and achieving related strategic goals to grow the
multinational restaurant chain business.

As a food service business, McDonald’s has a product mix composed mainly of food and
beverage products. The company is primarily known for its burgers. However, the business
gradually expands its product mix. At present, customers can purchase other products like
chicken and fish, desserts, and breakfast meals. For example, the product that I bought was
McChicken from super deals that come out with set. Which it does not have a burger only,
but it is add on with apple pie as side dishes.

Second element of marketing mix is place. This element of the marketing mix enumerates
the venues or locations where products are offered and where customers can access them.
Restaurants are the most prominent places where the company’s products are distributed.
This element of McDonald’s marketing mix also involves the company’s mobile apps.
Furthermore, customers can place their orders through the website and mobile app.

Next, promotion. This element of the marketing mix defines the tactics that the business
uses to communicate with customers. Among the 4Ps, this variable focuses on marketing
communications with target customers. For example, the company provides new information
to persuade consumers to purchase new products. Advertisements are the most notable
among McDonald’s promotion tactics. The corporation uses TV, radio, print media and
online media for its advertisements. On the other hand, sales promotions are used to draw
more customers to the company’s restaurants. For example, McDonald’s offers discount
coupons and freebies products and product bundles, as a way of attracting more consumers.

Lastly, price marketing mix. The aim is to use prices to maximize profit margins and sales
volume. McDonald’s offers meals and other product bundles for prices that are discounted,
compared to purchasing each item separately. For example, customers can purchase a
Happy Meal or an Extra Value Meal to optimize cost and product value. Company uses
prices that appear significantly more affordable, for example, McChicken prices for set is
RM13.99 instead of rounding it off to the nearest ringgit. This pricing strategy helps
encourage consumers to purchase the company’s products based on perceived affordability.
PAYMENT INFORMATION

Payment method for McDelivery is either cash or online method, which is debit and credit
card. During the pandemic nowadays, customer usually just order and pay through online
because it is easier. Otherwise, if there are many cash, customer can use cash also instead
of online payment. The payment process usually same with the other online platform

They accept the payment for credit card and debit card. When customer have add to cart,
they must check out to make a payment. Because of this is food product, it will not take a
longer time like a day to deliver. For example, when you have made a payment, the apps will
give the detail about the product like the time deliver and so on.

BUYING EXPERIENCE

Absolutely this is not my first time for buying McDonald’s product using theirs application and
website. The apps is easy to access, not that complicated for the first time user. When
buying using online platform, it give a lot of advantage more over in this pandemic period. I
actually realise that McDonalds offer a lot of deals during pandemic period in order to gain
more profit. Due to the situation right now, it is the good thing to enhance customer to
download and access the apps.

Furthermore, the deliver process is not only be done by Mcdelivery. There also a few
platform serve the deliver process of McDonald such as food panda and grab food. In term
of the delivering process, there is no issue about time delivery when I bought the product.
The product arrive according to the time that have been given from McDonalds itself.
