Statement of Purpose

Working in power plant since last 8 years, I have identified a problem regarding day today operation
of Power plants. Decision making capability while unit in emergency conditions depends from one
operator to other operator.eg if Boiler feed pump tripped how to react optimally. i.e cutting fuel
supply at certain rate ,ramping down load in certain rate, etc all these decision changes from
operator to operator & from time to time. But all sequence of operations are recorded in Historian
server all round the years creating a big data. If we can make use any data mining technique to find
out or search similar historical conditions with better solution (by evaluating fitness function) from historian
server, then these history knowledge will be used to guide the operation of the unit. These results better stability
and also guide operator for better action. Hence causing a huge economical profit.
