Response to Leiningers Culture care theory Week 4 discussion

Leininger’s Culture Care Theory has a vital application in today’s nursing. The
communities in which we live are becoming more multicultural daily increasing
the challenges of healthcare providers to provide safe and culturally competent
care. Cultural competence requires acceptance of the differences of other
cultures and the ability to provide care without letting one’s personal beliefs
interfere with the care provided (Milton, 2016). Being culturally competent and
accepting of different culture’s ideas and perspectives will lead to better
communication and collaboration resulting in superior patient care and patient
satisfaction.
