We’ve tried some new things this past year like the Magic University and a Flea Market and
a Magical Picnic. We’ve brought in Lectures that covered a fairly broad spectrum in an at-
tempt to expose you to all kinds of magic. We accepted the gracious offer of US Toy to host
those lectures and in so doing have found a way to reduce lecture fees for club members.
We have identified new challenges like improving the Close-up Magician of the year contest
to make it comparable to the Stand-up Magician of the year banquet. We need a juniors program and we’ve
started to work on that but we need some of you to step forward and help. In the near future we will ask you to
fill out a survey so that we can get your feed back on what you liked and didn’t like about the things we tried.
We will seek your input on what activities you want us to continue and which ones we should drop and what
other activities you would like the Board to take a look at for the future.
None of the things I have listed could have happened if it hadn’t been for the volunteers and the selfless efforts
of your Board and these people should be recognized. The hours they put in were well above and beyond the call
of duty. I’m going to name names because these people deserve it. Non-Board members like Carl and Chuck
Macan, Julia Clark, Ken Reedy and Stu Lewis who makes sure we’re represented in the Linking Ring every
month. Roger Miller our Historian and what I call the Ladies Auxiliary; Janie Fields, Sheila Miller, Peggy Ad-
ams, Imo Patchen and Lynn Henneforth. We probably couldn’t do anything without them. Then there is your
Board; Alan Goodheart who is always there when you need something. Doc Blum our Consigliary (sp) and mas-
ter of the bullwhip. Kirk DeWeese who’s always there to take money and keep it straight for us. Don Douglas
who makes sure the Newsletter gets out on time. LC Collier who has more committees going right now that
somehow he keeps straight. Larry the grammatically correct Mr. Warshaw who makes sure the I’s are dotted and
the T’s are crossed and Dan Bradbury who is a very deep well of knowledge for the club. Then there is Jason
Dean who used the Sgt. At Arms gig as a stepping-stone to the BIGS and also Harris Deutsch who kindly added
his expertise when he stepped in to ride heard on the contests.
We are a lucky club to have so many dedicated workers.
The month of November brings with it Election time. We have candidates running for office and excellent group
they are; Alan Goodheart for President, Doc Blum
and/or LC Collier for Vice President. Don Douglas for
Secretary, Kirk DeWeese for Treasurer, and Ken We need to give a
Reedy for a Board position. These are all good people
who are dedicated to the club.

taurant. This should be a blast so make sure you make to our own
plans to attend. We had a great time Roasting Duane L. C. Collier
Fields last year and I know the Roast for David will be for his coordinating and handling of both the
full of surprises. Good food and a good time should Ring 129 FLEA MARKET as well as being in
make for a perfect evening. charge of the upcoming Roast for David Sandy

Next time you see L. C. give him a pat on the
back side (not too low) and tell him thanks for
jobs well done.
We appreciate all your efforts, L. C.!
