Hello everyone, welcome to the first virtual discussion for this summer class 2020.

For today’s class, we

are going to discuss about “The Gender and Global Issues”. I hope that you’ll listen in everything that
we’re going to tackle for all of you.

For the Introductory of this topic, first I will further tackle about Gender and Sex because it is very
important to understand the differences between the two.

Sex refers to the biological and physiological differences between male and female on the basis of
their reproductive structures.

Gender refers to the social, cultural, behavioral and emotional differences between men and women.

In general terms, “sex” refers to the biological differences between males and females, such as the
genitalia and genetic differences.

“Gender” is more difficult to define, but it can refer to the role of a male or female in society, known as a
gender role, or an individual’s concept of themselves, or gender identity.

Sometimes, a person’s genetically assigned sex does not line up with their gender identity. These
individuals might refer to themselves as transgender, non-binary, or gender-nonconforming.

A person’s sex, as determined by his or her biology, does not always correspond with his or her gender.
Therefore, the terms sex and gender are not interchangeable.

For example scenario, A baby boy who is born with male genitalia will be identified as male. As he
grows, however, he may identify with the feminine aspects of his culture. Since the term sex refers to
biological or physical distinctions, characteristics of sex will not vary significantly between different
human societies.

For the summary, sex is determined or inherited by birth, while gender is influenced by social, cultural
and behavioral factors.

As we’ve seen here, sex and gender are far more complicated than many of us were raised to believe.
The most important thing to remember is that it’s up to each individual to determine their gender. You
just need to be yourself and yourself only. The best thing we can do to each other is respect the sex and
gender identity of the people you encounter and treat each individual you meet with sensitivity and
care.
Why does gender matter in world politics?

In other countries, just like America. American still hasn’t

Why other countries women make rash decisions emotionally.

Can’t think of any off the top of my head. Can’t think of any advantages either. Gender should not be a
factor at all, either positive or negative. We have already have women mayors and governors, and
foreign countries have had women heads of state. Somehow they did not all collapse in chaos.

There will always be a small number of petty small-minded people who dislike the President because of
who he or she is and not because of what they do. Present one included.

How about we vote for the candidate that we feel will do the best job overall, and not because of race,
gender, or some ideological single issue litmus test?
