The term geohazards refer to features of the geologic origin or human-made, on and/or
beneath the seafloor, that poses a threat to engineered structures. The main devastating
effects of geohazards are loss of lives, rig sinking, pipeline burst, environmental
pollution, or structure collapse. The less harmful impacts have severe financial
consequences as well as significant project delays.”

Dr Denny Tami

Dr Denny Tami has extensive working experience of 25 years in both academic and
professional worlds within the geotechnical industry. He obtained his B.Eng., and
M.Eng., degrees in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering from Bandung Institute of
Technology - Indonesia, and his PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University -
Singapore. He published his works on his PhD thesis in four prominent geotechnical
engineering journals as well as presented them in several conferences.
Dr Tami was a Senior Engineer at Fugro Singapore, both in the Offshore Geotechnics
Division and the Onshore Group from October 2007 to January 2013.
He joined Java Offshore (i.e., Asian Geos Sdn Bhd) in January 2013 as Head of Geo
Consultancy Unit, a newly established unit in Geotechnical Division. In his current role
as a VP Geoconsulting of Java Offshore Group, Dr Tami is determined in transforming
the company to be a Full-Service Geoscience company as well as maintaining and
improving the quality of services offered by the company.
