Self Evaluation
To me the part that took the longest was coming up with what to say and thinking of the
topic. Once I figured those out the essay just flowed right out of me.
2. What is the most significant difference between your first draft and your final
versions?
There were a lot of thoughts that I just put on that looked vague or unfinished. I had to go
back and rewrite what I clearly wanted to state and put thought into combining sources
and explanation.
I’d have to say the first essay with the 3 application prompts. I feel like the difference in
the final and rough draft were very noticeable, and also I have an easier time grabbing the
audience’s attention and using creative writing techniques when it comes to writing about
me and my life.
The second essay about Chanel. I say this because if I spent more time trying to find
better ads that fit into my arguments I'd succeed in it. The reason for this essay to be
chosen is because I feel like I received constructive criticism in ways to improve it after
my final draft.
5. Where do you see the need for growth in your writing?
I believe the place where I can grow in my writing is perfecting my research papers and
multimodal essays. I say this because, again, I write better when it’s something about my
life, me, or completely fictional. I always felt like my strongest writing is fictional and
just the creativity that can come out of you to make a wonderful piece. Research papers
are ones I need to improve because it’s hard for me to be into the writing process when
creating them. I tend to drift in thought or not want to continue them if it’s about a topic I
don’t like or completely disagree with.
I will try to continue writing whatever comes to thought and just send time around
writing whenever I have the time. I’m already applied to college, so I’m looking forward
to continuing writing and being creative in college.
