Q1: the main circuit is shown below:

a: Draw the function diagram of each component?

For the circuit, the state diagram have been taken as below since the
simulation software that used is festo fluidism .
b: Modify the circuit to achieve different operating velocities of the
actuators.

It can be accomplished as in the following pictures for the 3 cylinders

The editing for cylinder A :

The cylinder B:
The cylinder c:

c: Modify the circuit such that actuator C will not extend until
actuators A and B finish their extension strokes.
The following simulation pictures shows the editing circuit such that
do the desired performance:
The valve is added for retract the pistons to their initial positions
See the simulation:
First the piston A extract the piston B then C , after the operation
ends, the piston A and B retract together then piston c retract , this
operation can be accomplished for more one time.
The circuit before start :

After pressed the start valve:

Extract of piston B

Extract of piston c:
Now ,The pistons start retract

Retract the piston A and B:

Retract the piston c:

When you press again to start valve the same

operation occurs.
d: If the system flow and pressure is 50 l/min and 7bar
respectively, and cylinder C resists a load of 500 kg, find the
dimension of cylinder C capable of moving the load with
constant acceleration equal to 3m/s2 . What is the effect if the
cylinder A, B and C has different dimensions?
Assume that the piston c will move the mass 10cm,we find the time
needed :
2∗10 cm
..t= √ 3
= 0.058 second.

V=a*t = 3*0.058=0.174 m/s.

−3
50 ×10
Ap= 0.174∗60 =4.7 mm

Ap=πr2
R=1.2mm.
The effect of the cylinders A,B and C have different diameter will
make the different flow.

Q2: Using simulation software, design a pneumatic circuit that

control the movement of a cylinder. Such that, extends to 10mm
then stops for 1ms then continues to the next 10mm then retract to
the zero position, then extends to 30mm and so on. The operation
continues for 10cm stroke.
In this question i tried to use proportional valve and displacement
encoder, it solenoid activated so the circuit below built:
The problem that I couldn't relate the position A with the
displacement encoder and the electrical method, SO i tried to build
the circuit with directional valves …
With this method I perform when the piston stop at 10 mm just as
shown in the following picture:
